| Description: | Hello my name is Martell Hayes. Hayes (5-feet-7inches, 50pounds) finished his high school career as one of the best defensive backs in the state of Arizona. Hayes started 23 or his 26 high school games. He finished third on the team in tackles in his junior season, and second his senior. He recieved Honorable mention honors both as a junior and senior. Also in his senior season, he was named 2nd team all defense. He lead the team in interceptions for his junior season with 7. He recorded one of the longest interception's in school history(80 yards) for a touchdown. At Tolleson High School, Hayes recieved another honor for the ''who's who among high school athletes'' magazine. He also recieved recruitment letters form the entire Pac-10 Divison. Martell Antoine Hayes was born November 2, 1983. Now Hayes is playing in the Arizona Football League for the Southwest Stampede. Hayes is currently recognized as one of the best players in the league. He is fourth on the team in tackles(30), tied for first on the team for interceptions(10)and leads the team in total touchdowns(11). Hayes is also one of the leaders of the team. In one game, versus the Dragons, he recorded 4 touchdowns alone. He scored on the opening kickoff(101 yards). In the second quarter on a 4 yard reception. Also a interception(40 yards) in the fouth along with a fumble recovery(30 yards) on the last play of the game. The Stampede are in the playoffs, thanks in part of Martell. In 2008, Martell missed the first 5 games. He has returned to the team in week 6 and recorded 2 tackles and 1 interception returned for a touchdown. Hayes is also a two-way player. |
